Derna Campbell serves as a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde. She directs pharmacist prescribing courses and coordinates classes within the MPharm programme, IMU twinning programme, and MSc in Clinical Pharmacy. Campbell also acts as academic selector for the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and joint Manager of the IMU twinning programme.
Her educational background includes a BScHons in Pharmacy from Strathclyde University (1990) and an MSc in Clinical Pharmacy (1996). With extensive practical experience as a hospital pharmacist at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Western Infirmary, she transitioned from private sector pharmaceutical training to full-time academia in 2007 while maintaining community pharmacy practice.
Research interests center on medication adherence, pain management, substance use, and clinical pharmacy practice. Her work significantly contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through pharmaceutical care research. Publication analysis reveals consistent focus on medication assessment tools, cancer pain management, and substance misuse prevention across community and clinical settings.

As Director of prescribing courses, Campbell oversees educational programs while maintaining active clinical practice.
