His research examines the social and cultural history of order and disorder in the 19th century across France, Europe, and colonial empires. This includes studies on revolutions (1848 and the Paris Commune), uniformed police, urban societies, and the nation-state, aiming to reinterpret 19th-century transformations through relational and interdisciplinary lenses (literature, sociology, anthropology). Current work focuses on political crises, shared history workshops, and global historical frameworks.
