David T. Fortin is an academic and practicing architect affiliated with Laurentian University. A Member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (MRAIC) and LEED accredited professional, he is registered in Alberta. His work bridges architectural design, history, and theory, with teaching experience spanning undergraduate and graduate courses in locations such as rural Washington State and Kenya.

Dick and the Spectacle of Home (Ashgate, 2011) and a chapter in Writing the Modern City: Literature, Architecture, Modernity (Routledge, 2011).
His academic practice extends to conference participation, including a session on 'A Tectonic Question of Métis Centeredness' and engagements with themes like heritage authenticity, sustainability in design, and community-based urbanism. At the heart of his work is a commitment to integrating cultural narratives into architectural practice and education.
