Neal Fortin is the Director of the Institute for Food Laws & Regulations at Michigan State University and a Professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Michigan State University College of Law, where he contributes expertise in legal frameworks related to food systems.

Dr. Fortin's work bridges food science, human nutrition, and regulatory policy. His research focuses on the intersection of law, science, and public health, particularly in areas such as food safety standards, dietary supplement regulation, and international food law harmonization. He actively engages in policy development for local and national public health initiatives.
