David Lincicum

David Lincicum is an Associate Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame and serves as Director of the Master of Theological Studies Program. He is also a Fellow of the Medieval Institute. Lincicum earned his D.Phil. from the University of Oxford and specializes in the intersection of early Jewish, early Christian, and New Testament studies.

His primary research focuses on early Christian and Jewish biblical interpretation, Pauline literature, and the history of interpretation. He has made significant contributions to the study of Second Temple Judaism, the relationship between the Old and New Testaments, and the reception of ancient texts. His current major project involves producing an edition, translation, introduction, and commentary for the Epistle of Barnabas.

Lincicum's recent scholarly output reveals a strong emphasis on the reception history of Philo of Alexandria, with his most recent work being The Reception of Philo of Alexandria (2025).
