David Jennings

David Jennings serves as Master Lecturer and Undergraduate Coordinator in the Geosciences Department within East Tennessee State University's School of Science, Engineering, and Math. He teaches foundational courses including Cultural Geography, World Regional Geography, Earth Science sequences, and specialized meteorology/climatology curricula covering global regions from Oceania to Tennessee.

His research centers on critical atmospheric phenomena: climate change dynamics, global dimming effects, anthropogenic environmental alterations, and high-impact meteorological hazards like hurricanes and tornadoes. This work bridges theoretical climatology with practical hazard assessment, emphasizing human-environment interactions in changing climate systems.

As Undergraduate Coordinator, Professor Jennings directs academic programming for geosciences majors while maintaining active professional engagement through the American Meteorological Society, American Geophysical Union, and geographic education alliances. His institutional service includes oversight of the Honors Program in Geosciences and undergraduate research initiatives at ETSU's Gray Fossil Site and climate research centers.
