Nicholas Grondin is an Assistant Professor in Atmospheric Science within the Department of Environmental Studies at the University of Tampa. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Tennessee (UTK), where his research focused on North Atlantic and eastern North Pacific hurricane climatology, tropical cyclone behavior, and climate change perceptions in Knoxville. His teaching experience at UTK included courses on Natural Hazards, Climate Change, and Meteorology, alongside roles in the First Year Studies Program. He has been recognized with prestigious teaching awards from UTK.

At the University of Tampa, Grondin teaches Environmental Science for non-majors, climate change courses for majors, and developed a new Atmospheric Science course (Fall 2023). His research engages undergraduates in hazards climatology, including hurricane patterns in Florida, dry spell variability, and student perceptions of hurricane risks.
