Jennifer Collins

Jennifer Collins is Professor at USF's School of Geosciences, specializing in extreme weather and hurricane climatology. Her research examines hurricane formation patterns, evacuation behaviors, and climate change impacts.

Key research areas include:

• Interannual hurricane variability in Atlantic/Pacific basins
• Social factors in evacuation decision-making
• Tornado risk perception

Honors include the Edward N. Lorenz Teaching Excellence Award and Fellowship in AAAS/AMS. She directs graduate research on tropical cyclogenesis and hazard communication.
