Joshua Hodge

Joshua Hodge is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. He holds a PhD in Geography from Texas State University (2020), an MS in Applied Geography from the University of North Texas (2016), a BS in Geology from the University of Texas-Arlington (2013), and a BA in Geography from the University of North Texas (2011).

His research spans:

• Hurricane impacts on coastal sedimentation and marsh aggradation
• Climatology and global climate change effects
• Anthropogenic influences on landforms and geoheritage
• Coastal geomorphology, zoogeomorphology, and biogeography

Dr. Hodge teaches diverse courses including Meteorology, Climatology, Physical Geography, and World Geography, with enrollments ranging from 10 to 70 students per class. He employs face-to-face, online, and hybrid teaching methods.

He actively serves on departmental committees (Bylaws, Curriculum, Geography) and supports geography education through roles in the AAG World Geography Bowl and regional geobowl events.
