Dr. Harry Williams is a Professor in the Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of North Texas (UNT). He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Coastal Research and conducts research at the intersection of geomorphology, natural hazards, and human-environment interactions.
Research Interests
Dr. Williams specializes in coastal geomorphology, with a focus on hurricane storm surge sedimentation, paleotempestology (study of ancient storms), and the impacts of urbanization on physical environments. His fieldwork-driven research spans Texas, Louisiana, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam, using GIS, GPS, modeling, and remote sensing as key methodologies.
