David Durand-Delacre is a senior researcher at the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), affiliated with the Environment and Migration: Interactions and Choices (EMIC) section. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Cambridge (2018–2022) and MSc in Environment & Development from the London School of Economics (2013–2014). Previously, he served as President of Réfugiés Bienvenue France (2017–2018) and contributed to the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (2015–2017). His work critically examines climate migration discourses, focusing on epistemic mobilities, policy debates, and the interplay between climate change and human mobility. Key themes include knowledge production, political framing of migration as a security issue, and the need for justice-centered approaches. He has won awards for academic excellence, including the Cambridge European Scholarship (2018–2021) and an LSE prize for MSc performance (2014).
