David Corey is Professor of Political Science in the Honors Program at Baylor University and Director of Baylor in Washington. His research examines political philosophy, the history of political thought, and the just war tradition.
Professor Corey's scholarly work addresses fundamental questions of political legitimacy, liberalism, and nationalism. He has published extensively on classical political philosophy, with particular attention to Plato's dialogues and the Sophists. His current book project explores the politics of war and peace in American political discourse.
Corey has received multiple teaching awards including Baylor's Outstanding Teaching Award (2018, 2007) and has chaired over 30 doctoral, master's, and honors theses. As director of Baylor in Washington, he hosts high-profile conversations on civil discourse and contemporary political issues.
