Elizabeth Corey is a Professor of Political Science at Baylor University’s Honors Program, serving as its Director since 2015. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Louisiana State University (2004), an M.A. in Art History from LSU (1999), and a B.A. in Classics from Oberlin College (1994), with additional studies at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Edinburgh. Her teaching spans political science, great texts, and interdisciplinary core courses.
Research interests include
- Political philosophy with a focus on Michael Oakeshott
- Intersection of religion, aesthetics, and politics
- Liberal education and moral imagination
- Conservative political thought
- Critical analysis of academic culture
Her recent publications in First Things, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Law and Liberty explore timeless educational values, anti-rationalism in governance, and the ethics of public writing. She has also contributed to debates on cultural humility and political indoctrination in academia.
Scientific awards include
- Robert Novak Journalism Fellow (2016-2017)
She previously held the Values and Capitalism Visiting Professorship at the American Enterprise Institute (2018-19) and serves on the board of the Institute on Religion and Public Life.
