David Coker is a Lecturer in Popular and Commercial Music and serves as the course leader for the BA (Hons) Music Producing program at the University of South Wales, within the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries.
With over three decades of professional experience, David has established a prominent career in the music industry as a musician, producer, programmer, and remixer. He was signed to Go! Discs in 1994 and BMG RCA in 1996, releasing multiple singles and albums, and has remixed tracks for artists including Gabrielle, Madness, The Cardigans, and Todd Terry.
His collaborative work extends to producers such as Mark “Spike” Stent, Goldie, and Arthur Baker, contributing to projects for Bryan Ferry, All Saints, and Bran Van 3000. He has produced commercial music across Asia for major brands like Pepsi, KFC, Heineken, and the Dusit Hotel Group.
David’s music has been featured in television and film, including the theme for Top of the Pops, Kevin & Perry Go Large, Open University, and Children’s BBC.
