معرفی
David A. Alagpulinsa serves as Assistant Professor of Comparative and Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, where he leads the AlagsLab established in 2023. His research integrates genetics, immunology, molecular biology, and biomedical engineering to investigate hematopoietic function in complex diseases including type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, and hematologic malignancies.
- PhD in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (2015)
- Postdoctoral Training, Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School (2021)
- Instructor, Massachusetts General Hospital & Harvard Medical School (2023)
His research spans hematopoiesis, clonal hematopoiesis, cardiovascular disease mechanisms, and immunoprotection strategies for diabetes. The AlagsLab employs single-cell analysis, genomics, and bioengineering approaches to identify molecular targets for precision medicine. Current work focuses on immune-metabolic interactions in HIV-related cardiovascular complications, genomic instability in hematologic malignancies, and novel cell replacement therapies for diabetes.
His publication portfolio demonstrates consistent contributions across hematology, immunology, and metabolic disease research, with recent emphasis on translational applications of genomic discoveries and innovative immunoprotection strategies. Key trends include the molecular basis of clonal hematopoiesis, CXCL12-mediated immune protection for islet transplantation, and HIV-associated cardiovascular complications.
- Keystone Fellow (2023)
- JDRF Diversifying Diabetes Research Talent Award (2022)
- MGH Poster of Distinction Award (2021)
- Physician/Scientist Career Development Award (2020)
- Tosteson Postdoctoral Fellowship (2019)
Dr. Alagpulinsa serves on NIH study sections and as ad-hoc reviewer for major journals including Haematologica and American Journal of Transplantation. His collaborative work spans Yale's Vascular Biology and Therapeutics Program, Yale Center for Molecular and Systems Metabolism, and the Cooperative Center of Excellence in Hematology. The AlagsLab maintains active partnerships with Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School investigators.
The AlagsLab operates within Yale's Department of Comparative Medicine with access to core facilities including Cell Prep & Analysis, Imaging, and Animal Modeling resources. Current research directions include developing precision medicine approaches for hematopoietic disorders and advancing cell-based therapies for diabetes through novel immune-protection strategies.
