Jennifer VanOudenhove, PhD is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Internal Medicine (Medical Oncology and Hematology) at Yale University School of Medicine. She is affiliated with the Halene Lab, focusing on hematologic malignancies and clonal hematopoiesis. Her research integrates genomic, transcriptomic, and clinical approaches to understand mechanisms of disease progression in myeloid disorders and cardio-oncology complications of cancer therapy.
Education: PhD in Biomedical Research (Cell Biology) from University of Massachusetts Medical School (2016). Postdoctoral training in Cotney Lab at UConn Health (2020).
Research interests include clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP), immune checkpoint inhibitor-associated cardiotoxicity, and the role of somatic mutations in myeloid malignancies. She collaborates widely, with frequent co-authors including Stephanie Halene, Giulia Biancon, and Jennifer M. Kwan.
Key contributions include studies on the link between CHIP and immune therapy myocarditis, mechanisms of AML chemoresistance, and translational models of humanized xenotransplantation. Her work bridges basic science and clinical applications, aiming to improve outcomes for cancer patients through precision medicine approaches.
