Daniela Fecht is a Senior Lecturer in Geospatial Health at the Small Area Health Statistics Unit (SAHSU), part of the MRC Centre for Environment and Health at Imperial College London. Her work focuses on two core themes: 1) geographical variations in urban population health, and 2) environmental and health inequalities. She develops advanced geospatial methods to analyze emerging data sources and spatial disease patterns, with emphasis on policy-relevant outcomes.
Education: PhD from Imperial College London (2003–2011). She leads the Geospatial Health Group within the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, specializing in novel geographical approaches for environmental health analysis using GIS methods. Her research addresses environmental adaptation strategies to create equitable, healthy urban environments.
Key affiliations include the Grantham Institute, Earth Observation Network, and Network of Excellence in Air Quality. She actively communicates findings to policymakers, NGOs, and the public through outreach and media engagement.
