Bethan Davies is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Epidemiology at Imperial College London's School of Public Health and an Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She holds affiliations with the Small Area Health Statistics Unit (SAHSU), the MRC Centre for Environment and Health, and the NIHR HPRU on Chemical and Radiation Threats and Hazards. Her expertise spans public health policy, social/environmental determinants of health, and health inequalities. She leads the Advanced Statistics and Data Science modules for the Imperial MPH Online and on-campus programs.
Education: BA(Hons) and MB BChir from the University of Cambridge; MPH and PhD from Imperial College London. She holds Fellowships from the Faculty of Public Health and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
Research focuses on leveraging routine data to inform public health policy, particularly through SAHSU, where she investigates the impact of social and environmental factors. She co-leads the EDI efforts for the NIHR Imperial BRC’s Social, Genetic, and Environmental Determinants of Health Theme.
Grants and Funding: Supported by NIHR and MRC fellowships. Supervises doctoral research on topics like fuel cost policies, vehicle emission impacts, and HIV health disparities.
Labs/Teams: Co-Director of Imperial MPH Online; active in HDRUK’s Social and Environmental Determinants of Disease Driver Programme.
