معرفی
Dr. Sean Beevers is an Associate Professor (Reader) in Atmospheric Modelling at the School of Public Health, Imperial College London. He leads the Air Pollution Modelling team within the Environmental Research Group and is a member of the MRC Centre for Environment and Health. His work focuses on advancing exposure models, coupled air quality systems, and evaluating policy impacts on urban air quality, including London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). He has led over £10M in research grants and published extensively on air pollution’s health effects and climate co-benefits.
Research Leadership:
- Member of MRC-PHE Centre for Environment and Health
- PLuS Alliance Fellow at Arizona State University and UNSW Sydney
- Management team member of the Environmental Research Group
Research Focus: Development of human exposure models, regional/local air quality systems, satellite-based vehicle detection, and policy evaluation. Key areas include:
- Air pollution exposure in urban settings
- Climate policy co-benefits
- Health impacts of air pollution on vulnerable populations
Grants & Projects (2020–2024):
- Public Health Impacts of UK’s Clean Air Zones (£2.2M, MRC)
- UK Community Emissions Modelling System (£1.25M, Met Office)
- Zero Carbon UK Costs/Benefits (£900K, NIHR)
- Satellite Air Quality Modelling (£1.3M, ESA)
Advising: Supervises five PhD students focusing on emissions inventories, non-exhaust pollution, cognitive health, and satellite vehicle tracking.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Air Pollution Modelling team and collaborates with the Grantham Institute, NIHR HPRU, and international universities. His work integrates environmental science, policy, and public health for urban sustainability.
