Dr. Dana Armstrong is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of the RN to BSN Program at Belhaven University since 2015. With 27 years of nursing experience, she specializes in pediatrics, nursing education, and nursing informatics. She holds a B.S.N. and M.S.N. from the University of Mississippi and a Ph.D. from William Carey University.
Her research focuses on nurse retention and education outcomes, as evidenced by her 2018 doctoral dissertation. Awards include the 2019 Betty Dickson Health Policy Scholarship and participation in Leadership Rankin (2019-2020). She is active in professional organizations like the American Nurses Association and Mississippi Nurses Association.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on maternal/newborn nursing, pediatrics, and nursing capstone projects. She contributes to national initiatives via the National RN-Baccalaureate Faculty Forum and Mississippi Nurses Foundation.
