Dan Hart

Dan Hart is a Senior Lecturer in Haematology at the Blizard Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. He holds an honorary consultant role in Haematology and works closely with the Immunobiology Centre. His clinical and research focus spans haemostasis, thrombosis, and immunological complications of haemophilia.

Research Interests:

• Identification of B and T cell epitopes from therapeutic factor VIII/IX to study alloantibody formation
• Application of artificial intelligence (AI) neural networks for in silico T cell epitope prediction
• Development of antigenic peptide prediction pipelines as translational tools for haemophilia trials
• Immunological basis of bimodal factor VIII inhibitor risk in haemophilia A

• Bayer Hemophilia Awards Program - Early Career Investigator award (2010)
• British Society of Haematology Early Career Fellowship (2011)

Teaching and Collaborations: Dan contributes to undergraduate medical education, organizes the Fundamentals of Medicine physiology block, and supervises haematology trainees. He collaborates with Prof Karim Brohi’s Trauma Research Group (co-supervising a PhD student) and Lochana Nanayakkara at The Dental Institute on bleeding disorder management in dentistry.
