Dan Halewicz serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at William Paterson University while simultaneously holding his position as assistant coach for the men's basketball team since 2009, entering his 16th season in 2024-25. His dual academic-athletic role bridges theoretical knowledge with practical coaching applications at the institution.
Academically, he earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Muhlenberg College (1996, magna cum laude) and a master's in sport administration from William Paterson University (2022). His professional coaching background spans decades, including founding the Wayne PAL/NJ Wolfpack AAU program (2001-2017), head coaching roles with Bulls Basketball Club 17U (2022) and Riverside Hawks AAU, and assistant coaching positions at DePaul Catholic High School.
His research interests center on Sport Administration and Sports Science, with specialized focus on Basketball Coaching methodologies derived from his extensive practical experience. This expertise connects academic principles in kinesiology to real-world athletic performance and team development strategies.
While no scientific awards or research grants are explicitly documented, his coaching contributions have driven significant program success including four 20-win seasons, three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances (2010, 2012, 2015), and two NJAC championships (2010, 2012).
