معرفی
Dr. Dan Bose is a Sir Henry Dale Fellow at the University of Sheffield's School of Biosciences, with a career spanning postdoctoral research at institutions like the University of Pennsylvania and Imperial College London. His research focuses on enhancer RNAs (eRNAs), their role in gene regulation, and implications in diseases such as ALS. He employs multidisciplinary techniques including cryo-EM, molecular biology, and functional genomics to study eRNA interactions with epigenetic machinery. Bose teaches courses in genetics and molecular biosciences, and leads the Bose Lab, offering PhD studentships and internships. Awards include the prestigious Sir Henry Dale Fellowship.
Research Interests: Enhancer RNAs, non-coding RNA biology, epigenetic regulation, transcriptional control, disease mechanisms (ALS), and chromatin remodeling. Techniques include cryo-EM, functional genomics, and molecular biology.
Publications: Recent work explores phase separation in CBP condensates, Notch signaling in cell fate decisions, and ALS risk genes linked to enhancer mutations. Earlier studies include structural biology of RNA polymerase complexes and checkpoint kinases.
Awards: Sir Henry Dale Fellowship (2019–present).
Teaching: Leads modules like MBB162 (Genetics) and MBB325 (The World of RNA). Supervises PhD students through programs like BBSRC White Rose DTP and MRC DiMeN.
Labs/Teams: Directs the Bose Lab, emphasizing collaborative, multidisciplinary research in RNA biology and gene regulation.
