Dagmar Divjak is a Professorial Research Fellow in Cognitive Linguistics and Language Cognition at the Departments of Modern Languages and English & Linguistics, University of Birmingham (UK), since 2019. Previously, she held positions at the University of Sheffield (2006–2019), including Chair (2018–2019), Reader (2012–2017), and Lecturer (2006–2010). Her research spans Cognitive Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, and Morpho-Syntax, with a focus on language learning and usage-based approaches.

Divjak has secured over £1.34 million in external funding, including a Leverhulme Research Leadership Award and a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship. She has published two monographs, edited volumes, and over 50 articles, emphasizing quantitative methods in cognitive linguistics. Her international lecture series include 'The Quantitative Turn in Cognitive Linguistics' (2013, 2014) and 'The Cognitive Commitment – 25 years on' (2016).

She supervises PhD and MA students, with 6 ongoing and 3 completed PhDs as lead/co-supervisor. Divjak has served as Editor-in-Chief of Cognitive Linguistics (2018–) and on editorial boards for multiple journals. Her international research visits include Germany, USA, Russia, and Sweden, and she has participated in 37+ conference abstract reviews and 10+ scientific committees.
