Cynthia Lee is a Professor of Management and Organizational Development at Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business. She holds a PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of Maryland, an MA in Organizational Communication from Ohio State University, and a BA in Broadcasting and Journalism from Ohio State University. Her research focuses on job insecurity, leadership transitions, and proactive behaviors in organizations. She has served as a visiting professor at institutions like Hong Kong Polytechnic University and co-directed the Center for Leadership and Innovation there. Lee is an Academy of Management Fellow and has received prestigious awards including the Nash Outstanding Doctoral Alumni Award (2016). Her work has been published in top journals like the Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Organizational Behavior. She actively contributes to editorial boards and serves as a mentor in academic communities.
Lee teaches courses in organizational behavior, international management, and leadership, with a focus on multicultural environments. She pioneered consulting projects and fundraising initiatives integrated into Northeastern's graduate and undergraduate programs. Her research examines how organizational changes impact employee behavior, with a focus on psychological ownership, voice behavior, and ethical leadership. Recent studies explore the effects of COVID-19 on workplace dynamics and the role of proactive personalities during leadership transitions.
