Cynthia Bauerle, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Biology at James Madison University (JMU) since 2016. She holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Virginia (1984) and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1990). Her work focuses on undergraduate biology education reform, leading initiatives such as AAAS Vision and Change, PULSE, and Project Kaleidoscope. She serves as an AAAS Council Delegate and was elected an AAAS Fellow in 2016. Bauerle has secured $74,000 in NSF funding for leadership development in biology education and published influential work on diversity in STEM and faculty assessment methodologies. Her research emphasizes scalable educational reforms and faculty development strategies.
