Cristina Manatschal is a Lecturer and Teaching Coordinator at the University of Zurich's Department of Biochemistry. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry from ETH Zurich and conducted postdoctoral research at the Paul Scherrer Institute and Raimund Dutzler's lab. Her research focuses on structural biology of iron transport proteins and molecular mechanisms of cellular processes. She teaches extensively across the Faculty of Science and Medicine, including courses in biochemistry fundamentals and practical laboratory modules. Manatschal has received the NCCR TransCure Young Scientist Award (2016) and collaborates with academic and industry partners like Vifor Pharma. Her work bridges biochemical, structural, and cell biological approaches to study protein functions in health and disease.
- Education: PhD (ETH Zurich), Postdoc (PSI/UZH)
- Teaching: BCH modules in Biochemistry, Gene Technology (Medicine)
