Cristian Thom is a Senior Scientist and Lecturer at the University of Zurich's Department of Biochemistry within the Faculty of Science. His research focuses on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), antibody interactions, and viral vector engineering for targeted therapies. He teaches multiple biochemistry practical courses across the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine.
Education: PhD in Biochemistry (2018–2024) and postdoc under Prof. Plückthun, followed by a year at the High Throughput Binder Selection Facility. Current roles include leading the Teaching Team since June 2025.
Key research areas include structural biology of GPCRs, molecular mechanisms of receptor activation, and engineering adenoviral vectors for tumor-specific delivery. His work bridges biochemistry, structural biology, and translational medicine.
