Connie Musolino

Connie Musolino is a Research Fellow at Stretton Health Equity within the Stretton Institute at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences in the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. An early career researcher specializing in social science, gender studies, and public health, she currently contributes to Professor Fran Baum's NHMRC Investigator Fellowship project "Restoring the Fair Go," which examines policies to reverse health inequities in Australia post-COVID-19.

Her educational background includes:

• PhD in Social Science focusing on young women with eating disorders, analyzing gendered and socio-cultural barriers to therapeutic help-seeking

Musolino's research spans health inequities, social determinants of health, gender and health, health promotion, community health services, civil society, and social movements. She employs mixed-method approaches including semi-structured interviews, focus groups, community consultation, observations, diary writing, world cafe sessions, and surveys to investigate complex health equity issues through interdisciplinary lenses.

Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students, she has extensive experience managing complex interdisciplinary research teams and project advisory committees. Her current NHMRC-funded work emphasizes community and policy engagement to translate evidence into actionable health equity strategies, particularly through examining post-COVID policy interventions.

As a core member of Stretton Health Equity, Musolino collaborates within a research environment dedicated to advancing health equity through community-participatory research, policy analysis, and partnerships with civil society organizations across Australia.
