Dr. Matt Fisher is a Senior Research Fellow in Public Health at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the Stretton Institute and the School of Social Sciences. His research focuses on public policy addressing social and commercial determinants of health, health equity, and wellbeing, with a particular emphasis on Australia. He has expertise in Indigenous health, mental health, food policy, digital health, urban planning, justice policy, and national broadband infrastructure.
His notable works include a book on creating societies for human wellbeing through public policy and key publications such as 'A theory of public wellbeing' (BMC Public Health) and 'Moving social policy from mental illness to public wellbeing' (Journal of Social Policy). Dr. Fisher is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students as a co-supervisor.
