Colette Savage is a Lecturer at the School of Education, University of Aberdeen. With a background in computer science and secondary teaching, she transitioned to mindfulness research and practice, integrating neurobiology and Eastern wisdom. She holds qualifications including a BSc in Computer Science for Business, PGCE in Teaching, and MSc in Data Communications and Networking.
- Research Focus: Embodied mindfulness in inclusive classroom practice, human values in education, compassion, and neurobiological foundations.
- Teaching: Program Director for the MSc in Mindfulness Studies, course coordinator for multiple mindfulness modules in MA, MSci, and GTCS-accredited programs.
- Collaborations: Partnered with Dr. Archie Graham on embodied awareness research, presented at ECER 2023 and SERA 2022 conferences.
- Knowledge Exchange: Developed pandemic-era online mindfulness courses, led daily sessions for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary staff, and established the first integrated human values school in Ireland.
