Dr. Colette Mortreux is a Lecturer in Human Geography at Monash University's School of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and migration dynamics in vulnerable communities. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Melbourne (2015) and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Development Studies and International Relations from the same institution (2008).
Her work examines adaptation pathways for coral atoll communities, bushfire risk preparedness in Australia, and migration decision-making in coastal regions of Bangladesh, India, and Ghana. She is currently a Chief Investigator in the 2025 project 'Maternal and Child Health Climate Resilience in Indo-Pacific Region.'
