Dr. Rosie Morrison is a Research Fellow (Postdoctoral) in the School of Engineering at RMIT University, specializing in bushfire evacuation behavior and disaster responses. She holds a PhD in Behavioral Economics from the University of Edinburgh, where her research focused on climate adaptation strategies of smallholders in Kenya. Her work has also explored wildfire risk perceptions in Trinidad and Tobago and decision-making related to livestock and zoonotic disease risks.
Dr. Morrison collaborates with Dr. Erica Kuligowski on bushfire evacuation studies under an ARC Future Fellowship. Her research spans interdisciplinary fields including physical geography, sociology, and veterinary sciences. She previously served as a Senior Policy Officer in the UK Civil Service, focusing on climate change policy.
Her current projects include using virtual and augmented reality to enhance bushfire evacuation understanding. Key research themes include disaster preparedness, climate adaptation in vulnerable regions, and socio-behavioral factors influencing risk management decisions.
