Rosie Gallagher is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UQ Business School, The University of Queensland. Her research focuses on evaluating post-disaster reconstruction programs and their impact on resilience across physical, financial, social, and emotional dimensions. She has explored institutional disruption during extreme weather events, aiming to bridge theoretical insights with practical policy development. Her recent work examines the global insurance industry’s response to catastrophic events like the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, highlighting implications for Australian premiums and resilience strategies.
Her research interests include disaster resilience, climate change adaptation, and the financial mechanisms influencing recovery. Collaborating with experts like Paula Jarzabkowski, Katie Meissner, and Tyler Riordan, her 2025 article analyzes how wildfire risks in California are driving global reinsurance cost increases, urging Australians to reassess insurance policies and home resilience measures.
