SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestryمعرفی
Cole D. Gross is Assistant Professor of Soil Carbon Science in the Department of Sustainable Resources Management at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He holds a Ph.D. in Soil Science from the University of Alberta (2022), M.S. in Environmental and Forest Sciences from the University of Washington (2017), and B.A. (magna cum laude) from the University of West Florida (2010).
His research examines soil health and carbon cycling in forests, grasslands, and agroecosystems, investigating how land-use decisions affect carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation. Current projects include studying soil carbon dynamics at micro-to-macro scales across global ecosystems.
He mentors graduate students in soil science applications and develops educational resources on soil science for youth outreach. Laboratory capabilities include state-of-the-art soil carbon analysis.
