Colby Kervick is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at the University of Vermont’s College of Education and Social Services. Specializing in special education, restorative practices, and inclusive teaching, Kervick prepares future educators to support students’ academic and social-emotional needs through equitable learning environments.

Kervick’s research focuses on implementing restorative practices in K-12 schools to address disciplinary inequities and foster collaboration with families of children with disabilities. She also examines teacher shortages in special education and contributes to state/national policy discussions.
Recent publications explore restorative practices’ impact on genderqueer students, sexual/affectual minority youth, and pandemic-era virtual implementations. Themes include equity, disability inclusion, and systemic reform in educational systems.
