Cobus du Toit is an Associate Professor of Flute and Associate Chair of the Music Faculty at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, also serving as Woodwinds Area Coordinator. A South African native, he holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Pretoria. His principal teachers include John Hinch and Christina Jennings.

- Ensembles: Principal Flute of Boulder Chamber Orchestra, flutist for Antero Winds (professional woodwind quintet)
- Recordings: Naxos Records (Jacques Castérède's flute oeuvre), self-produced Tríptico (with guitarist Patrick Sutton) and Mythavian (with pianist Doreen Lee)
Notable achievements include international performances across Russia, South Africa, the US, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, and France, alongside awards from major music competitions. He is a Wm. S. Haynes artist.
Research interests focus on flute performance excellence, pedagogical innovation, and chamber music collaboration, supported by his extensive competitive and recording history.
