Clayton Peoples is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where he also serves as Director of the School of Social Research and Justice Studies and faculty in the interdisciplinary social psychology Ph.D. program. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from Ohio State University in 2005. His research focuses on social stratification, political sociology, state-corporate crime, and policy analysis, particularly examining how campaign contributions influence policymaking and corruption. He has published widely in journals such as Sociological Quarterly and Crime, Law, and Social Change, and authored the 2020 book The Undermining of American Democracy. Peoples has received prestigious fellowships, including the Edmond J. Safra Lab Fellowship at Harvard University, and teaching awards for his innovative approaches.
