Claudia Wilsch Case

Claudia Wilsch Case is an Associate Professor at the Department of Music, Multimedia, Theatre & Dance within Lehman College, City University of New York (CUNY). She teaches theatre history, dramatic literature, and theory, and has also taught seminars at the CUNY Graduate Center and Lehman College’s MA Program in Liberal Studies.

• Education: B.A. from Auburn University Montgomery; M.F.A. and D.F.A. from Yale School of Drama.

Research Interests include modern American theatre, American musical theatre, and American dance theatre, with a focus on dramaturgy, adaptation, and regional theatre development. Her work explores intersections between architectural spaces and performance practices.

Her publications emphasize the role of regional theatres in shaping Broadway productions, the evolution of musical theatre production models, and cross-cultural translation in dramatic works. She has presented at prestigious conferences such as ASTR, ATHE, and IFTR.

Dr. Case contributes to both academic scholarship (e.g., peer-reviewed journals like Theatre Journal) and practical theatre through dramaturgical consulting and literary translation for international productions.
