Claudia De Fuentes is an Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary's University. She serves as the Program Coordinator for the Master of Management in Cooperatives and Credit Unions (MMCCU) and is an editorial board member for Innovation and Development. Her research focuses on innovation systems, STI policy, rural revitalization, and global value chains, with a particular emphasis on knowledge creation and place-making in regional development.
Her work explores intersections like the role of craft industries (e.g., Nova Scotia's wine sector) in reversing rural decline, and strategies to integrate newcomers into agri-food sectors.
