Clare Beanlands is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at London South Bank University (LSBU). She joined LSBU in 2004 after 19 years as an NHS occupational therapist in clinical and managerial roles, specializing in neurological and musculoskeletal care. Her teaching focuses on flipped classroom methods and simulation techniques, for which she received the LSBU Innovation in Teaching Award (2018). As Skills Lead for the MSc/PGDip Occupational Therapy program, she emphasizes practical labs and actor/mannikin use in education.

Research Interests: Professional reasoning in occupational therapy students, dialogical analysis (Bakhtin), simulation-based teaching, and clinical supervision workshops for NHS Trusts. Her PhD explored how students negotiate professional identity through reasoning processes, highlighting emotional and cognitive dimensions.
