Jess Blake is an Associate Tutor in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of East Anglia and a member of the Lifespan Health research group. She holds an MSc in Occupational Therapy from UEA (2017–2019). Her professional roles include Specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (2022–present), Senior Occupational Therapist at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (2021–2022), and Occupational Therapist at East Coast Community Healthcare (2019–2021).
Her research interests focus on neurological rehabilitation, dementia care, patient/public engagement in healthcare, and optimizing complex interventions in care settings. Key areas include addressing misaligned recovery expectations post-brain injury, music-based interventions for cognitive recovery, and improving sleep management strategies for individuals with dementia or mild cognitive impairment.
Blake collaborates extensively with NHS trusts and academic institutions, contributing to projects such as scoping reviews on healthcare professional practices, music therapy applications, and care home intervention frameworks. She actively participates in interdisciplinary networks, including the Lifespan Health group, and emphasizes ethical, inclusive research methodologies.
