Claire Maxwell is currently a Professor of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen, with extensive research and consultancy work focused on educational inequalities and the global mobility of high-skilled professionals. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications for businesses and educational institutions.
Her research explores how internationalization and mobility shape social groups, with particular emphasis on the experiences of high-skilled migrants in Denmark and their processes of belonging. This includes family dynamics, professional identity negotiation, and the intersection between cosmopolitanism and nationalism in education systems.
She has co-authored significant academic works on cosmopolitan nationalism in education policies across East Asia, Ecuador, and Morocco, and led the SkillsINCORP study examining mobility decisions of professionals in Denmark. As a consultant, she developed the Project Onboard Denmark toolkit for companies to improve onboarding of international professionals.
Her recent publications examine anchoring mechanisms for migrants, international school curriculum adaptations, and the complex decision-making processes of mobile professionals considering future mobility. While her contact information includes both claire@oxfordeditorial.eu and Deakin University's email c.maxwell@deakin.edu.au, her current affiliation appears centered on the University of Copenhagen.
