Dr Claire Kenward serves as the APGRD Archivist and Researcher within the Faculty of Classics at the University of Oxford. Her responsibilities encompass managing the Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama's archival and library collections, open-access databases, and digital preservation strategy, alongside overseeing the curation, design, and development of the APGRD's digital resources.
Her research focuses on classical reception studies and digital methodologies for preserving theatrical heritage, with core interests including:
- Performance history of Greek and Roman drama
- Digital archiving of performing arts
- Classical reception in modern contexts
- Digital preservation strategies for cultural heritage
As research project manager for the APGRD’s Digital Ancient Theatre project, she leads digital documentation initiatives for ancient performances. She actively mentors interns and volunteers in archival curation and digital resource management, contributing to workforce development in classical studies. Her work bridges classical scholarship with digital innovation to ensure long-term access to performance records.
