معرفی
Claire Achmad is a Guest Lecturer at Leiden University, affiliated with the Law Institute of Private Law and the Department of Child Law and Health Law. Her research focuses on international commercial surrogacy (ICS) through a public international law and human rights lens, emphasizing children's rights. She completed her doctoral thesis in 2018, titled Children's Rights in International Commercial Surrogacy: Exploring the challenges from a child rights, public international human rights law perspective, supervised by Prof. M.R. Bruning. Her work proposes frameworks to protect children's rights in ICS despite the lack of international consensus.
Her research addresses legal gaps in surrogacy arrangements, nationality, identity, and the application of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The thesis is a seminal contribution to child rights and international human rights law, targeting policymakers, legislators, and academics.
