Cinnamon Bennett is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield Hallam, affiliated with the Sociology section within the College of Social Sciences and Arts. She holds a PhD, MA, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education. Her research focuses on gender equality across labor markets, organizational dynamics, and public policy, with expertise in qualitative methodologies and gender mainstreaming.
Teaching responsibilities include modules like 'Gender, Sexuality and Culture,' 'Sociological Theory,' and 'Qualitative Research Methods' across BA Sociology, Criminology, MSc Public Health, and Social Science Research programs. She previously managed the Objective 1 Programme in South Yorkshire addressing gender imbalances and served as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, leading UK-wide studies on carers' employment challenges.
Her research cluster co-convenor role (SP3) emphasizes interdisciplinary social science topics. Current supervisory topics include period poverty, work-family conflicts in academia, and gender dynamics in Chinese education systems.
