Christos Vasilakis is a Professor in the Department of Information, Decisions & Operations at the University of Bath, specializing in Operational Research and Management Science applied to healthcare. He serves as Management Director of the Centre for Healthcare Innovation and Improvement and contributes to the Centre for Bioengineering & Biomedical Technologies, Bath Institute for the Augmented Human, and the Centre for 21st Century Public Health.
His research focuses on advanced analytics for healthcare service planning, mathematical modeling of interventions, and simulation studies. He has collaborated with clinicians on surgical infections, stroke care, glaucoma, mental health, maternity services, and pandemic response strategies. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for healthcare and social well-being.
Recent publications highlight his expertise in discrete event simulation, mass casualty blood provision, multi-level innovation theory, and stepped care systems. He holds external roles including Fellow of the Operational Research Society, Honorary Senior Lecturer at Bristol Medical School, and Associate Editor for Health Care Management Science.
