Dr. Christopher Thompson is a Senior Research Fellow in Early Modern History at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Buckingham. He holds degrees from Oxford, Cambridge, and the University of North London. His research focuses on early Stuart parliamentary politics, landowner economic strategies, and English colonial endeavors in the Caribbean and New England. He has authored works in prestigious journals such as the Economic History Review and Historical Journal, and is currently publishing research on Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick. Formerly, he worked in Westminster and Whitehall for over 25 years and taught at five UK universities and two former polytechnics.
