Christopher Oliver is a Graduate Instructor in the Department of Theatre at the University of Missouri. He teaches courses including Acting 1, Acting 3, Acting for the Camera, Performance Workshop, and Capstone. His specialization includes performance, coaching, directing, and scenic design. Originally from Missouri, he moved to NYC where he worked as an actor and theatre technician for 11 years, studying under Arthur Penn, Gene Lasko, and Elizabeth Kemp.
Education: BA in Theatre from Drury University (1998), MFA in Acting from The Actors Studio Drama School at New School University (2001). He is currently a doctoral candidate specializing in performing arts and pedagogy.
Recent work includes scenic design for Adrienne Kennedy Plays (Fall 2019). His research interests focus on performance techniques, directing methodologies, and integrating technical theatre skills into educational practices.
