Christopher Lock is an Assistant Professor of Music Synthesis and Performance Technology at Western Carolina University, affiliated with the David Orr Belcher College of Fine and Performing Arts' School of Music. He also teaches at Oregon State University. With a Ph.D. from Harvard University (2020), his research focuses on AI music theory, Small Data instruments, and accessibility in music education. His works blend electronic soundscapes with viola improvisation, often exploring themes like biological phantasmagoria and environmental abstraction.
